FA Cup 3rd Round Betting Tips 2020/21

Although the FA Cup isn’t quite the trophy to win it once was with much bigger rewards coming from the Premier League and Champions League, it is still a competition loved by many football fans. It could be argued that the FA Cup 3rd round (proper) is still one of the biggest and most enjoyable weekend of football fixtures in the whole season’s calendar. For many football purists the 3rd round of the FA Cup is still a major interest and really throws up some interesting fixtures, which adds even more interest for those looking at betting on this weekend’s matches.

The beauty of the 3rd round fixtures is not only do we get some huge fixtures with giants taking each other on we also get the potential for the classic FA Cup giant killing matches and local rivals clashing when they are in completely different divisions. The FA Cup really does offer a bit of everything for everyone.

Normally with our betting previews we pick a certain game and try and pull some winning bets out of that. This week though we’ll try something different though and try and find some different bets such as accumulators and some giant killing bets.

The 3rd round betting is usually loved by the bookmakers as the results can be all over the place. It is possible to find some betting value and profitable bets though but it is a great battle of wits with the bookies. The first matches actually take place on Friday night, 8th January, at 19.45 with Aston Villa hosting Liverpool and Wolves hosting Crystal Palace. Both interesting fixtures but not ones we’d really look at for the betting on but an Aston Villa home win looks interesting at 5/2 with Betfair and GentingBet, or maybe a home win double with Villa and Wolves being at 6/1 with Betfair, currently top price out of all the online bookies.

Saturday’s fixtures are the big ones though and there are some very interesting fixtures in the betting. One of the first games to stand out is the 12pm kick off between Boreham Wood and Millwall. This is the first fixture we can see an upset happening with Millwall struggling of late and Boreham Wood on a great run of form and despite being 3 division below Millwall we like the look of Boreham Wood, especially as they are the home team. The 7/1 offered by a few bookies such as Boylesports and 888sport looks very interesting.

Will will change focus now though and look at a couple of accumulator bets as they are very popular and many betting fans love trying to take on the bookmakers with them. We won’t go stupid though, we aren’t about trying to find a 10 team winning acca, as the chances are slim. What we want to do is find betting value that has decent value and a good chance of winning. The first one we’ll look at is a match winner accumulator.

The first selection is Everton to beat Rotherham at home with the best odds of 3/7 with Everton looking for any trophy success and a way into European football and Rotherham really struggling this season. We’ll then add high-flying Norwich to beat Coventry at 5/6 and also Sheffield United to beat Bristol Rovers at 3/4. Although Sheffield United have had a nightmare season Rovers have also struggled and United will be lo king at this game to kick-start their season. At 8/15 we also like the look of Swansea to beat Stevenage Borough. We do think these are very good bets and will add Chelsea to win as well just to boost the odds at 1/12. The best odds you can get on that are just over 6/1 with William Hill.

A ‘Both teams to score’ accumulator is always popular with betting fans and the bookies will probably say they are one of the most popular bets nowadays. These bets can be great fun and have some very good betting value so we’ll pick a 6-fold bet here that we think should have goals in. Our games are Nottingham Forest v Cardiff, Blackburn v Doncaster, Exeter v Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke v Leicester, Arsenal v Newcastle and Huddersfield v Plymouth. This bet gets odds of just under 40/1 with Betfred so could bring some excellent returns.

We will never say our betting tips will win though and our aim is to try and find betting value with a good chance of winning and giving you long term betting profits. It is never easy trying to take on the bookmakers so we try and find sensible bets here. Also at Online-bookies.org.uk we have the best bookies free bets and bookmakers reviews for you so not only can you find free bets and bonuses but see if that online bookie is the correct betting site for you.

One last thing we will urge though, is please gamble responsibly, and please, let betting just be fun. Betting on sports should be fun so please keep it fun, and, good luck with your bets.
