Tranmere Rovers v Manchester United FA Cup Betting Preview 26/01/2020

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer received the dreaded vote of confidence from the Manchester United hierarchy following Wednesday night’s defeat at home by Burnley.

The Norwegian remains a much loved figure amongst the United fanbase but he is running out of supporters as the club’s manager. He was appointed despite lacking the credentials you’d expect for the Man Utd boss and isn’t exactly convincing anybody that he has what it takes to take the club forward.

With frustration growing and confidence falling, the last thing Man Utd need is a FA Cup banana skin. That’s exactly what they face on Sunday afternoon though when they make the short trip to Birkenhead for the 4th Round match against Tranmere Rovers.

Tranmere Looking to Use Their Momentum

Whereas Man Utd head to Prenton Park with confidence almost at an all-time low, Tranmere are absolutely buzzing.

They made it past Watford in a rearranged 3rd Round replay having come back from 3-0 down at Vicarage Road, two results that they will take great heart from as they face another Premier League opponent.

Despite their recent problems, Manchester United are still a huge draw. Prenton Park will be rocking some time before kickoff and the Tranmere players are sure to give everything they have to the cause.

This match is another welcome break for Tranmere from the battle against relegation for the players and the fans. Whilst we don’t Rovers will get anything from the match, we do think they’ll keep it tight so bet on Tranmere +2 goals at 4/5 with Coral.

Man Utd’s Youngsters Should See Them Through

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s list of problems at Man Utd seems to grow with every passing week. They have problems both scoring enough goals and keeping them out at the other end which is a recipe for some poor results.

The loss of Marcus Rashford and the failure to replace Romelu Lukaku has really hurt United this season but it has opened up chances for some younger players.

Mason Greenwood has grasped every opportunity he’s been handed to play this season and may well get another start on Sunday afternoon. The 18-year-old plays the game without fear and may well add to his tally of first team goals 6/5 with 888Sport.

Daniel James is another younger players who can get on the scoresheet for Man Utd on against Tranmere. The Welshman hit the ground running following his transfer from Swansea over the summer but has come off the boil a little lately.

James’ last goal for Man Utd came all the way back in August but this is a great chance for him to play his way back into form so consider backing James to score at 13/5 with Betfred.

Mick Mellon knowns that it will be tough for his team to stop Greenwood and the other talented Man Utd forwards from scoring at the New Meadow. He should fancy Tranmere’s chances of grabbing a goal though, we certainly do so recommend backing both teams to score at 5/6 with 10Bet.
